Naqi Rizvi works as a Propositions Manager at Barclays in the Students team and joined the firm as a graduate in 2017. He also sits on the management team of the firm’s disability, mental health and neurodiversity Employee Resource Group. Additionally, he has other interests in championing the colleague voice. As such, he is the Customer and D&I rep on the Barclays UK Colleague Council and was heavily involved in guiding the future ways of working approach for the disability, mental health and neurodiversity agenda. Naqi is very passionate about inclusion and won a global Barclays award for his work in this space in 2018.

Outside of work, Naqi is a keen sportsman and presently ranks 3rd in the world in the men’s category for blind tennis. He also plays goal ball, runs long-distance and cycles on his tandem bike. He is also a keen public speaker and has spoken in two TEDx talks as well as international conferences. He has featured in newspapers and on television in India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the UK for some of his achievements.

Naqi is blind but he believes that even though he has lost his sight, he hasn’t lost his vision. He believes that he is differently abled and wants to show the world that disability is not the same as inability.

Jurgen Donaldson
Jurgen lost his eyesight in August 2019 as a result of a brain tumour, since then he has become an active advocate for visually impaired people in the United Kingdom, working with the Vision Foundation on a variety of national campaigns. Jurgen has been in the talent acquisition and recruitment industry for the last 17 years, working for the likes of JP Morgan, Legal & General and Citigroup.

Ussud Ali
Ussud is a student and currently works part-time as a youth support guide within a youth centre for young people with specialist needs. Ussud is continually applying for jobs, mainly through LinkedIn, and has had a range of experiences at interview and assessments too.
